The start of Awareness Art

The reason behind Awareness Art
After months of preparation, the time had finally come. Last Monday we started with Awareness Art! With the whale in Utrecht, who swims on the Stationsplein to draw attention to the amount of plastic in the oceans and the polar bear that symbolizes the warming of the earth’s surface.
We are certainly proud. Especially during the festive opening in Van Lanschot’s brand-new office in The Hague. Floris Koumans, the chairman and founder of the Grow and Flourish Foundation, explained here very clearly why we are doing this again. Things are going badly with the climate. That’s what we want attention for. How do we reach as many people as possible with our message? With art.
About the artist
The art of up-and-coming artist Tim Boin. Tim is an up-and-coming artist in the Netherlands. He was the exhibiting artist in the famous W Hotel in Miami during the most prominent modern art fair in existence, Art Basel. Tim had previously created sculptures for an exhibition of Quays Culture, in front of the BBC in Manchester. These sculptures faced the four problems. Floris Koumans felt that these sculptures and the problems they faced deserved an even bigger stage. A stage in the Netherlands. This was the beginning of Awareness Art, set up by the Grow and Flourish Foundation.
We want to reach people with the message of art and the message of our foundation. The foundation helps companies to flourish, to give back to society. Companies can be compared to flowers from bulbs. Flowers in their growth phase are green stems. And yes, that growth is necessary. But growth also erodes a bulb. At a certain point a flower has to bloom, then it gets identity, then the earlier growth can be enjoyed, then the flower gives back to the world. The Grow and Flourish Foundation helps companies give back to the world.
Awareness Art is itself a flourishing flower of the foundation, with this the foundation shows what is possible with a little effort. Because after months, and thanks to the efforts of many, we are finally in the two most beautiful places for awareness. Between the Mauritshuis and the Lower House on Het Plein in The Hague. And in the middle of the country; in front of the busiest station we have in Utrecht. Awareness Art stands! Art with a message, for everyone!
